Retro Review: Hollow Man 2

The fall of Christian Slater continues.

After Uwe Boll destroyed every ounce of this man’s reputation by having him star in “Alone in the Dark”, Slater reappears in this direct-to-video sequel to the psychotic-invisible man movie which starred Kevin Bacon.

This time Slater is the invisible man who is stalking the creators of the serum that made him invisible and he has to match wits with Det. Frank Turner (Peter Facinelli) and Dr. Maggie Dalton (Laura Regan).

The film’s production design and execution are quite high caliber as there are a lot of elements here that remind us of the first film.

The script is passable and at times even comparable to the original but every time I heard Slater’s voice I cringed.

The sad things are the performances, strength of the cast and well how exactly do you film a double invisible man slugfest duel.

The film isn’t a complete disaster but neither is it a success which is probably the reason it went straight to video.
